Photographer's Note
American Ground In Lixembourg.
The Luxembourg American Cemetery and Memorial is located in Luxembourg City, Luxembourg. The cemetery can be found 5 kilometers southwest of Findel Airport.
The cemetery, which is 50.5 acres in extent contains the remains of 5,076 American service members. Most of the interned died during the Battle of the Bulge which was fought nearby. The 5,076 headstones are set in 9 plots of fine grass, lettered A to I. Separating the plots are two malls radiating from the memorial and two transverse paths. Two flagpoles overlook the graves area. Situated between the two flagpoles lies the headstone of General George S. Patton Jr.
The area covered by the cemetery is US land, similar to embassy lands.
In the workshop you have another view of this place.

Dramatic and still the silent mood that this motive deserves. The sharp light on the front cross i opposite to the very dark background is well chosen. Excellent cropping and a nice frame. Although you se only 3 crosses it gives a feeling of infinity and you know there are hundreds or thousands of crosses. In that way the photo tells much more than it shows and therefore I like it very much. I also like to experimente with crosses on a graveyard. Regards Jens

Hi Marcio, I like the image with the crosses repeating into the distance. Possibly representing that wars have been a repeating feature of life over the generations. cheers, Steve

Gosto muito, acho que está uma composiçăo muito bonita com estas cruzes a encaixarem umas nas outras. E o branco, contra a escuridăo do segundo plano, ficou também muito bem. A modo que simboliza a victória da luz sobre as trevas.
