Photographer's Note

This is a view of the Alter in the Roman Catholic Mosta Rotunda, or Church of St.Mary.

On the 9th of April three German bombers where being pursued by British fighters. One of the German planes flew over the Town of Mosta and ejected it's payload, a 500 pound bomb. The church took a direct hit, with 300 people inside. The bomb penetrated the 37 meter dome, then hit the painting of Christ with the Apostles and another wall before coming to rest on the floor. I guess depending on your Religious beliefs, some consider this event a Miracle, as not one person was injured or killed. The bomb failed to detonate and was then defused.

There is a replica of the bomb in the sacristy of the church. I have attached a photo of the bomb as a workshop.

As for the photo. The church was very dull and required a long exposure. I used the floor and my lens cap to tilt the camera for the 3 second exposure.
