Plato's cave

Wasps sting,
but this one, dying,
seemed harmless,
trapped in a sliver of sun
inches from the open door
where life lay waiting.
Though then again,
how could she know
when what she felt was warmth enough
that just the other side of shadow
light, unfolding, filled a sky.
And I, years later, wonder why
I still remember how she crept
to that dark edge
and back again.

Hello James,
Seems like the sea has been working for ages to achieve this result..!
Image is well composed, and with fine details...
The light metering is basically done by the shady parts, that's why you're close to overexposure where the sunbeams hit!
