Rafting on Tara river was one of the most exciting things I've experienced in my whole life.

Mixture of adrenaline rush, sounds of nature, scenery and wild stream of Tara river that runs through the biggest canyon in Europe.

In fact, Tara River Canyon is the second largest canyon in the World with its depth of 1333 m, right after the Grand Canyon of river Colorado.

Canyon is located in the Balkans, mainly in Montenegro with part of it in Bosnia and Herzegovina which is the best part of Tara river if you want to try out rafting.

Breathtaking rapids and river curves make it impossible not to enjoy it, and what’s even better is the fact that great part of this canyon is well protected, since it is a part of Durmitor National park and UNESCO World heritage site.

The whole place looks like it was never touched by human hand, and even the places that were touched, were done masterfully without destroying what mother Nature gave us.

Near Tara River Canyon you can find one of the best preserved rainforests in Europe (Perucica as a part of Sutjeska National park), endemic species, mountains, numerous caves, smaller rivers and even wilder canyons like Nevidio canyon in Montenegro, which are perfect if you wish to combine Tara rafting and canyoning together.

I didn’t even know what canyoning was, but I tried it out and didn’t regret it!

Canyoning is a mixture of nature exploring and good physical exercise which includes swimming through gorges with crystal clear and chilly water, jumping off cliffs and squeezing through the smallest cracks you can find.

What I liked the most is the fact that Tara river is so clean that it is safe to drink water straight from the river.

How many places in Europe can brag about that, huh?
