Photographer's Note

[Photo scene info + motivation]
Yesterday I was working on some photo's and encountered this one, I couldn't resist uploading it when it was finished.

This sky is taken from a balcony in Amsterdam West. We were playing poker with a few friends :) A camera accompanied me and since I noticed the sky outside was ever changing..well, the rest is clear!
Ofcourse it's just a sunset, but hey..what's in my name?! I have several recent Dutch skies stored, not only sunsets, but also really dark rainy skies, so I'll probably add a few of them in the period to my holiday. Not only views from Amsterdam are coming up!

[Photo technical info]
Shot taken with my new Pentax K10D!
28mm, F10, 1/20th, Pattern Metering, EV +0,3.
And RAW ISO 640 -> I should have used a lower setting instead!

[camera upgrade! + photo's to come!]
In the beginning of June I upgraded my body from a Pentax K100D to a K10D.
Mainly the weathersealing is a welcome advantage in Holland and it got me shooting in the rain recently in two typical Dutch towns/cities. For the Dutch people : Monnickendam and Hoorn. So the photo's I've taken there also follow soon!
But there are more advantages (not only the megapixels, I don't need those), I will not bother you with them in this note though!

I plan to shoot more in RAW with the K10D to get every last bit out of the camera when necessary (difficult light). As I'm new to the RAW format I hope to get some support from this wonderful community concerning RAW. Now the only concern is more storage :-))

[PP in CS2] For the first time a photo I worked on from a RAW file.

Imported with Adobe Camera RAW 3.7 in CS2 and then a whole new world opened for me, so I played a bit with all settings. Adding contrast, sharpness etc. Feels good for sure!

Afterwards : * Levels
* More contrast
* Filters -> Reduce noise & despeckle selectively
* Shadow/Highlight
* Resize Bicubic Sharper
* Border

That's all!
Love to hear what you think!

Sat 07-07-07 : Fishing on sea -> more photo's?! :)

In the WS : Both camera's K100D (sold) and the K10D are featured in one image..frontal and back shots! This one's just for fun! Can you spot the outer differences? :-)
