odd duo, a photo from Noord-Holland, South

Photographer's Note

Perhaps you know already that swans stick together for life and if one of the pair dies, the other swan usually stays alone. The mix of black and white swans I think close to never occurs.
so, what happened here? The company I work for addopted 3 swans; one widower, one babyswan (that's the grey/white one you see here) and a runayway swan. Apparently we had to wait to see if the swans liked our little pond and eachother. It was quite exciting for a few weeks, but they're still all here and seem to get along quite well.

a long way back home.. Nice image, not lions but they are very pretty , especially because there is a balck and a white. too bad the snow in the foreground isn't sharp.

Mooie foto. Goed contrast, eerst de witte sneeuw (meestal is sneeuw wit), dan die zwarte zwaan en daarachter weer een lichte zwaan.

That's a nice scene, Femke. The swans are seen in good detail, and it's interesting to explore what they have in common, and where they differ. The snow in the foreground is a bit bright, but doesn't distract too much from your beautiful subjects here. Nice note as well.

Good photo and a lot of detail in the swans. I think it could have done with a little darkening of the very white foreground snow.

Commentaire instructif.
Ce sujet est trčs difficile ŕ capturer car il y a du noir et du blanc.
Si l'on désire des détails dans le noir on ne voit plus rien dans le blanc et inversément.
Le résultat est assez plaisant.
