Very good capture here A. The sharpness and the many gulls included, the way tou captured them function very well in the compo. Good contrast to the greyish sky.

Very nice take, Albrecht - not as easy as one would think to picture these guys, and your photo really does a fine job of conveying the way in which they are hovering in the air and also offers the opportunity to study different postures. Not least I like how you have a clear cut of five gulls in the frame without any other portions of birds pointing into the photo. Well captured.

Very well done, the simple background/sky lets the viewer concentrate on the gulls. It seems that most of the gulls are looking at you, how did that happen? You also choose a good moment as it seems that all 5 birds are soaring and not flapping. There are only 5 birds in the frame and yet there is a lot to look at.
Maybe the frame is little static, compared with your other photo, but I prefer this one.

This photo reminds me of my first posting on TrekEarth.
I've never photographed any birds from a ferry- but you're right- they normally do circle the ferries don't they they. hmmmm- good idea!

Een werkelijk schitterende compositie. Het gekozen langwerpige formaat en de mooie framing voegen wat toe aan deze foto.
Mede dankzij de snelle sluitertijd zijn de meeuwen ook nog eens mooi bevroren in hun beweging.
