Photographer's Note

A trip to the "Zaanse Schans" just outside Amsterdam is very special. Lots of tourist from all over the world come there every day.
It was the first time for me and the weather was great and very Dutch: wind, sun and clouds. I will put some on TE of this beautiful place.
This goat, with the sun on it's head, just kept on peeping over the fence. I had to go through the knees to get the right POV.
In the background you can see the paintmill "the Cat".
Leveled and framed.

Mooie foto, Albrecht, wolken, wind, af en toe een bui of een beetje zon, dat is ook een beetje Belgisch weer.Zeer scherpe weergave van de geitenkop,het lijkt of ze gewoon is gefotografeerd te worden.

wow ! such a great image for me who loves animals ! great pov and composition here, with the blurred windmill in the background, the dramatic dark sky and the lght right on the goat's head. very good sharpness on the animal, colors are very nice too.

Als molenliefhebber moet ik hier op reageren...;-)). Dit is echt leuk gedaan. Het getuigt van veel creativiteit. Ook nog een goed evenwicht in de foto en de focus op de geit was een goed idee. Ik kom nog eens terug.

WOW! AMAZING, Albrecht! great composition and decisive moment!! Also, good DOF and exposure control! You must have bypassed the exposure reading of the camera due to the dark background in contrast to the goat face.

This is a fabulous shot, Albrecht. A well composed "portrait" with fine detail in the features of the goat. The windmill gives a good background subject but suitably blurred with the shallow DOF. The dark storm clouds are a perfect backdrop to make the sunlight white face of the goat really stand out.

this is a great picture. the moment is perfect because the cloudy sky at the backgroud and the ligth on the rigth make the goat so clear an white in the front.good dof work and the composition is great.

This one captured automatically my attention, from your featured thumbnails in your intro. I remembered that my last critic to you was the Scottish Highlander with a very funny expression.
This is another funny pose and expression and a wonderful contrast with the blurred mill in the back. I love the title and the composition is very well suceeded. Very good sharpness on the goat and beautiful grey sky that enhances all.

Dit is ook een leuke! Vooral het geitje heeft er genoegen in. Duidelijk in Nederland aan de molen en de lucht te zien maar goed genomen met weinig scherptediepte. Goed gedaan. Luc

Great fun! Looks like a last minute switch of the focus, what had to be a classical windmill shot became a goat shot with a (wind) twist.
Excellent composition, light and construction of the subjetct.

I see that i am not the only one who find this way of presenting the Zaanse Schans very good!
Last time i was there i also saw these goats, but never thought about using them as a main subject and the mills as background.
Great idea and nicely realized.

Funny and pretty photo. It has a kind of simmetry, in which the ears of the goat look like the sails of the mill (de oren lijken de vleugels van de molen(?)).
You have also proven that there are not only cows in the Netherlands.:))
