I couldn't resist uploading a last shot of the few days of cold weather that we recently had in the Netherlands. This is a detail of the bicycle of my neighbour. Her bike was parked in front of her house and during the night water had been dripping down from the roof on her bicycle. And as it was about -10 degrees Centigrade that night, she found her bicycle covered in ice. It was a very pretty sight and because of the beauty she decided not to use her bike that day!

We had only a few days of snow and cold weather this year. Let's hope for more of these pretty views next year! It's about time that some pretty pictures of skaters on the Dutch canals and lakes appear on Trek Earth...

we had a mild february and march and two days ago the cold came down from the Pole.. -8°... terrible.

Yes Michael, this is an excellent close-up winter shot! Nice diagonal of the handle bar, and the long icicles form pretty patterns in your picture. Excellent DoF and sharpness. Do I have such a lens as well?
I am very much attracted to it, because I surely know what it's like to be on the bicylce during wintertime, although it's not freezing in my basement, and I can't find these kind of scenes.
Yes , I would definitely like to see pictures of skaters, we could go to the Uithof, but it's not the same ;-)

A great macro, Michael. I wouldn't try to ride them in this condition. Excellent DOF, a greatand sharp detail, very well composed and captured. Very well done.

Nice composition with the diagonal of the handle and the repeated verticals of ice. A dark background makes the ice come out well.

Nice macro Michael;

Great detail in this one... you can even make out the tiny bubbles in the icicle. Looks VERY cold.
Been here in Singapore too long, not surer if my Canadian blood can handle it any more! Hahaha...

What a fine cristal clear detail of the ice with a good DOF, fine to have found this enjotyable one at last.
