Photographer's Note

Pouring rain in December 2000, I was one of the very few visitors that braved the weather, mind you probably the only one who stayed there for an hour and get his camera out.
Kinderdijk is a UNESCO Heritage Site since 1997. At the confluence of Lek river and some tributaries and canals features 19 windmills build around 1740 that have been restored and give us a glimpse of the dutch people centuries old fight to reclaim land from the sea.
The horrible weather gave me a rare chance to have this wonderful place just for my self, it was worth it every rain drop.
