Photographer's Note
When did coffee-to-go become such an important part of our lives. Certainly back in the 80's I cannot remember people walking the streets attached to their life-line of caffeine. We went to a coffee shop or tea shop to sit down and drink, but not take away. And now even in the pandemic, when all is closed, coffee-to-go is a vital piece of peoples lives.

Hello Elaine,
Judging from what I saw in the streets of Stockholm already quite many years ago a "city survival kit" was a mobile phone in one hand and a bottle of water in the other. But since several years the water is largely exchanged for a coffee-to-go. There is probably the same trend all over the Western world. There are lots of faces and postures to study in this lively and well taken photo.
Best regards,
Gert

Goedenavond Elaine,
John

Hallo Elaine,
Een goede observatie van het dagelijks leven, waar deze koffieverkoper er het best van maakt met deze geďmproviseerde verkoop.

Hi Elaine,a nice gift for me! I could stay open too but only for the take-out coffee, but honestly it's not worth it. I am pleased that you have highlighted this aspect of the consequences of the pandemic, it is time to make money for the vending machines. Have a nice Sunday and thanks,Luciano

Hi Elaine
I notice that some have found somewhere to sit with their coffee. I don't like drinking coffee whilst walking around (not a need for us In Australia luckily). Excellent street photo.
cheers

Hello Elaine,
I also had to have either a hot coffee or chocolate to survive winters in Korea, Turkey & Romania or tea in a pinch. Good sharpness and tonal range in this superb daily life scene. Tfs!

Hello Elaine,
You are very observant!
Yes, coffee-to-go is prevalent even in smaller towns! The result is, we often find the cups discarded on roadsides!
Once such a practice becomes part of a routine, it spreads to others who want to be in vogue!
Another lovely, crisp b&w shot.
These photographs will become very good journalistic records in times to come.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Elaine, I agree with you, when was it so essential to have a cup of coffee ‘on the go”.
This is now such a regular scene.
I really like your black and white presentation. Very sharp.
A picture of our times, excellent observation.
Kind regards, Jean.

Hello Elaine!
Why always Coffee Togo, but never Coffee Ghana or Coffee Benin or even Coffee Burkina Faso instead ...:-) ?
But you're right. Except for the rare cases of buying a complete meal from a good restaurant to take away, Cappucino-to-go has become the only surviving gastronomical item which we still do enjoy, especially when being able to sit down in a car, protected of wind and rain.

Hello Elaine
Nice street scene. As I see here, people are sitting without masks and no social distance. So why couldn't they sit inside a cafe? Many people are used to morning coffee, so this is the place for them. I do not drink any coffee, and there is no such place with the hot tea :(.
Best regards MAlgo
