Photographer's Note

As I was mentioning in my previous picture, the North Cape, the most northern point in Europe (or so they say! :^) is located on the island of Mageroya. The Hurtigruten route actually goes south of this island, so the boat doesn't sail under the North Cape, as I was expecting. Instead, it stops in the town of Honningsvag, in the south.

From there, we took a bus that cross all the island to reach the North Cape. I'm glad I took the excursion, if only for the landscape that we drove through for 20 minutes. The road was perfectly clean but the whole island was still covered in snow, with here and there a small house, looking lost, and only ski and snow-scooters tracks. No one in sight, just silence and this wonderful white, soft, blanket over the world. It was so beautiful.

This image is taken from inside the bus. The map location is approximate (but you can see the road we took).
