Photographer's Note

Based on an original drawing by the Italian multi artist Leonardo da Vinci this pedestrian bridge was raised on the highway E-18 outside of Oslo in 2001. The Norwegian artist Vebjřrn Sand took initiative for the bridge. Leonardo da Vinci originally made the drawing for the Turk sultan Bajazel II, who wanted to build a bridge over "The Golden Horn" at the Bospurus strait. The length was to be 240 m long, but the building of the bridge was never carried out. The bridge of to day is 108 m long and is made of tree material.

If you would like to see more pics. of the bridge you are welcome to visit my page:

This page also have a link to the artist and launcher of the idea for the bridge.

(This page has many visits through the year and also resulted in some interest from a professional magazine for the wood industry in the city of Zagreb in Croatia. It was later nice to see their 2 pages article with some 3-4 of these pics. used.)

Originally these pics. was made in connection with a webjob for some lawyers in the little town Ski outside of Oslo. They hade made a minor sponsor contribution to the bridge and wanted to include a pic. of the bridge on their new homepage. You are welcome to see the result at: www.helleroy.no/rettsomrade.htm
