Photographer's Note

Water is the most abundant compound on the surface of the Earth, covering about 70% of the planet. In nature water exists in liquid, solid, and gaseous state.

At room temperature, water is a tasteless and odorless liquid, nearly colorless with a hint of blue. Water usually makes up 55% to 78% of the human body. Without water there would be no life in the forms we know on this planet.

What we see here is the river Bua running through Synnerdalen (the South valley) in Forollhogna National Park. Since this is after the snow melting and in a period of dry sunny days the water level is rather low, as compared to the months of spring and early summer.

Notice also the fresh green grass and foliage, another result of the abundance of rain and humid climate in this region.
