Photographer's Note

There are something like 1.500.000 sheep in Norway, here represented by four of them! And this is for all sheep admirers out there, I know you are quite a few...

I meet with these fellows in Forollhogna National Park last summer, and they seem to be fit and well and enjoying the free life in the mountains!

For some strange reason sheep seem to gather along the road, and they often lay sleeping or resting in the road. This is one of the reasons you have to drive carefully along these curving roads, also because you are financially responsible if you hit and kill sheep...

I have several times noticed the behaviour we observe here: When you come across sheep in the road they try to escape by running along the road, they never make the smart move and simply get out of the road...! They can run like this for long distances, and they look pretty silly on the thin legs!

Please notice the ears are all turned backward, to better monitor my actions hehehe....

The WS image shows the same guys later that day, still in the road, and I think it is very rare to see a sheep with three lambs!
