Photographer's Note

On top of mt. Knutshři in Jotunheimen our maybe most popular region for mountain hikers. Total round trip, to the peak, over the mountain and back, app. 6 hr.
I never engage to much in altitude as the difference between start point and the highest point tells more of the challenge. This one is moderate with a height difference of app. 700 meter (The mountain itself app. 1550 m). Situated in the outer Jotunheimen National Park. Starting point for this hike right out from a parking along the well known route 51. The view here towards lake Gjende and mt. Surtningssua.

The cairn is to be found on the most summits as every visitor leaves a new stone in the pile. Locally called Steinkjerringer (Dames of stone).

More to come in later postings from this hike in the fair, but a bit cold weather (also some photos in my travelouge of 2004 - Knutshoi :)
