Photographer's Note
Another intersting meeting as we under the TE trek to Poland passed a field backed by a forest. Out there at the edge of the forest was what looked like an old graveyard.
We could see this old lady in full swing fixing up before the Othodox easter celebration. TE friend Jerzy had some small talk and learned that the old lady was some 78 years old.

Beautiful old face Jack ... how I love old people
Great crop and sharpness of the lines in her face.

An interesting character study, Jack. The tight framing works quite well to show her contemplative look and the wrinkles that life has engraved into her face. The shallow DOF is well used, it still manages to convey the forest setting but otherwise directs full attention to your subject.

Hi Jack,
It's an excellent protrait like the previous ones. However, another thing get my attention here: When I've spoted this picture in the gallery, I thought it's a new Jerzy's one... and it's yours. It shows, how a subject and/or environment influences photograpaher's style.
Thanks,
Marek

That Jerzy B. has it's own tricks how to influence the other's style.
In this case the results are quite astonishing. Perfect technicality. Very special POV. Very human.
And yes...very Polish.

Jack, c'est un beau portrait que tu as posté lŕ.
Le D70 a bien fonctionné pour mettre en valeur ce visage buriné par la vie et les ans. La tęte est décentrée sur la photo est c'est trčs bien.

oh, this one is extremely cool, jack: she was really a treasure in our trip , and her tiny problem rose to the size of the titanic ship, i remember how expressive she was explaining what she was doing there;
very good portrait;
best wishes, j.
