Photographer's Note

The Basilica of Our Lady of Licheń is a Roman Catholic church located in the village of Licheń Stary near Konin in the Greater Poland Voivodeship in Poland. It was designed by Barbara Bielecka and built between 1994 and 2004. The construction was funded entirely by pilgrims' donations.

With the central nave 98 meters tall, 120 meters long and 77 meters wide, and with a tower 141.5 metres tall, it is Poland's largest church and one of the largest churches in the world. The church is dedicated to Our Lady of Sorrows whose icon, dating back to the 18th century, is displayed in the basilica's main altar. It is one of Poland's principal pilgrimage sites.

Very good picture of it!
Sharpness, exposure, pov, horizontal format, colors (the sky's a bit pink), pp, contrasts and simple composition are good and they pleased me!

Ladna panorama. Niemniej nie jestem zachwycona ta architektura, to taki sztuczny twor zupelnie nie pasujacy do naszych krajobrazow.

troche nietypowy kolor ma ta Bazylika,ale ladnie pokazana jak sie domyslam zrobias ta fotke z miejsca gdziesa dzwony,tez tam bylem,a nawet czesto odwiedzalem to miejsce kiedy nawet jeszcze nikt nie myslal o powstaniu tej bazyliki,pozdrawiam

Ladnie przedstawiona bryla bazyliki z dobrego punktu widzenia. Na temat urody bazyliki sie nie wypowiadam.
Troche chmury sa zabarwione na rozowo.Nie wiem jaka jest przyczyna (balans bieli, obrobka?)W WS postaralem sie troche, na ile sie dalo zkikwidowac to zabarwienie.

Hi Barbara,
Tidy shot to show a large building, clear to show the feature of an old Basilica although looking from a distance. Fantastic it is surrounding by dense clumps, just like a basilica in a fairy land, distinct photo, good shoot.

Czesc Barbara,
ladna pocztowka z tego niezwyklego miejsca.
Miejsce naprawde kontrowersyjne ale jakby nie bylo dla fotografa bardzo ciekawe.
Musze sie tam wybrac, moze w przyszlym roku jak bede w Polsce.

Hi Barbara,
Thanks for sharing this image, and really good note. I am sorry to hear I had not heard of this place before, but I am glad I learned of it, as it is a beautiful church. The spire is particularly beautiful and reminds me somewhat of a mineret. Beautiful golden dome too, and an excellent pastel sky.
