Photographer's Note

Last Sunday, I was in this beautiful polish village with Jerzy, Jack and Marek where we had the chance of watching an Orthodox procession. It seems to be the costume to ring the church bells after the services while all the churchgoers walk around the church a few times.

The face of this boy is being reflected in one of the holy images which they are carrying.

El reflejo del nińo en el vidrio de la imagen hace la foto, creo que ademas de festival y ceremonia en las categorias pondria tambien momento decisivo. Esta muy bien captada, tiene unos colores vivos muy buenos junto con una excelente definicion.

the grimace on the boy's faces seems to indicate their unlimited faith, concentration, consciousness of the importance of carrying the symbols of their religion;

hi Daniel, finally able to see some of your shots from the trip...i love the way you cropped the image here, the three faces alone come into focus thanks to that, and it's interesting to develop some ideas from the fact that the image he's so reverently holding is another boy's face, not the image of st.mary or jesus there...
at least that's what we see in the photo. i'd like to interpret this as an idea that we have to respect and cherish another person, not an icon...just my personal thought on that:-)

Hi Daniel - nice colourful outfits, but the reflected image is brilliant, and carries the shot, at first I was afraid His Image reffered to another one of those tributes to the pope.

Congratulation on your 10000 point, it was hard work im sure.
This is a good image for the colors for the moment and for the emotions
But for me the reflection on the glass is very very well seen here

Was the reflection planned Daniel? Sometimes I find little gems in my photo that werent planned but made all the difference. Like my recent shot called "Flying", where I got her off the ground by sheer luck of timing. Or Maciek's latest shot wit the ball perfectly positioned on the wire. Here I think thats the case too..the reflection gives this shot a whole different dimension.

Excellent composition of this interessant scene. The framing is good and the reflection is well captured. We can feel the faith in the faces of these boys. I also like the strong colours, but I wonder about a B&W version - it could make the reflection stand out stronger...but I'm not sure. Anyway, good work!
