Photographer's Note
Douro River between two cities, Gaia and Porto, and known for the famous "Oporto Wine" which is indispensable after a good Portuguese meal, or any other meal unless it´s good!
The two boats behind are the "Rabelos" and they are the one with the huge responsability of making the wine transportation! The small boat belongs to a fisherman.
This place where i took the picture is called "Cais de Gaia", "Gaia Wharf" i think this is the correct translation! In the other side you can see the famous "Ribeira of Porto" a placed vary visited by foreigns while Euro 2004!
Lovely place don´t miss it next time you come to Portugal!

A fascinating picture. The rabelos, especially the one farthest right, has a look of the Viking Longboat! Is the timber beam at the bows part of the boat's equipment for mooring or does it stay at the mooring when the boat departs?
Another question! :o) Is the dominating bridge in the background covered with scaffolding or is the mesh effect part of its structure? I know, I aught to go and see for myself. :o)
This nicely composed picture makes that an intriguing prospect.

Wonderful composition Bruno! The wine transporting boats mathc finely the little one. Beautiful background of houses on the hill. The curve of the bridge makes it complete. Great job!

Realmente o Porto e em particular a Ribeira tem um infindável numero de motivos de fotografia. Nesta descobri mais uma dessas optimas prespectivas.Apenas como nota, é pena o remo do barco ŕ esquerda da imagem ter saido cortado. Boa foto Bruno

Not the first time this great bridge is seen on TE, Bruno, but the first time it is presented with this kind of framing. Great low shooting angle that not only makes the best use of the boats as foreground interest, but also establishes a good depth of the view towards the bridge and the buildings on the opposite shore. Wonderful colors, too, a very beautiful photo.
