The beach, a photo from Lisboa, South

Photographer's Note

Ericeira is a fishing village 50 km (31 miles) northeast of Lisbon, 25 km (16 miles) from Sintra and 10 km (6 miles) from Mafra. It has has the Atlantic Ocean as an eternal companion. Out of this relationship, the sun has given the best of its light and an ocean of traditions has been born.

The hospitality of its people, the harmony of the "old village" with its narrow cobblestone streets, characteristic housing, singular monuments, the sea, the fishing, the cuisine, the bold Atlantic views and the multiplicity of cultural programming interlace here in a grand way to welcome its visitors...

It was lunch time and a day of the week, not sunday.....

Very nice composition. I love Portugal, have been on vacations in the North and on Madeira. I see mostly empty stretches, I wonder where all the people are? Regards, Huub

The near-abstract look opf this beach scene works extremely well. The eye can choose different patterns to focus on, ie the shadowy circles, or the little roofs or the blue chaises...fantastic composition! Francis

Hi Isabel !

I was first really surprised not to see anybody here !! but I think it's better, for those blue beds are perfect on the sand !! The colours and the shadows are so great, and your point of view is perfect for this, well done !!

And then I saw that lady in the corner... mmmm... everything looks so quiet, I'm sure she enjoyed the day !! .... untill the crowd came :o)

Bonjour Isabel,
on dirait un peu un jeu de stratégie :).
Les ombres sont amusantes et donnent beaucoup d'impact ŕ cette photo aérienne aux couleurs agréables et naturelles.

Circles and squares, being real sunlovers materials. What a great picture; in a way so funny because it shows our vanity; all togeteher getting sunburned; for what?.
Wonderfull contrasts!!

Belíssima perspectiva sobre o areal da linda praia da Ericeira. Os toldos, as cadeiras e os chapéus de sol projectam sobra a areia sombras muito interessantes e formam um grafismo fantástico. Bom trabalho, parabéns!

Imagem curiosa a da praia deserta. De facto torna-se muito gráfica e interessante por isso. A linha diagonal formada pelos toldos traz dinamismo ŕ imagem. Ao contrário do que é normal a hora do meio-dia foi muito bem escolhida aqui pela projecçăo das sombras.
