Portugal celebrates today the 100 years of the Republic. After more than 700 years of monarchy, the revolution of 5 October 1910 deposed King Manuel II and established the Portuguese Republic.
This huge Portuguese flag is on the Rua Augusta arch, in Lisbon. It's the flag created after the republican revolution, that replaced the blue-white monarchic flag.

bonita esta foto com o arco da rua augusta e a bandeirona no meio. ótima luz e enquadramento e detalhes do dia a dia nesta área. minha avó nasceu no dia da república ou num dia próximo, meu avô dizia sempre que ela e a répública eram da mesma idade. interessante como a república chegou ao brasil bem antes de ptgl.
se bem que muitos países monárquicos se queixam de sustentar famílias reais nós aqui no br sustentamos uma cambada de vadios legislativos ,sem nenhum glamour. haha

Enquadramento muito bom com boas proporçőes entre as diferentes partes da imagem. Boa definiçăo em toda a fotografia e também boa luz que pőem bem em valeur a fachada monumental! Bravo!
