Photographer's Note

This is the facade of Oceanário de Lisboa. It is located in the Parque das Naçőes, which was the exhibition grounds for the Expo '98. It's the largest indoor Aquarium in Europe.

The Lisbon Oceanariums conceptual design, architecture, and exhibit design was led by Peter Chermayeff of Peter Chermayeff LLC while at Cambridge Seven Associates. It is said to resemble an Aircraft carrier, and is built into the pier on an internal sea. Chermayeff is also the designer of the Osaka Oceanarium, the world's largest aquarium, and many other Aquariums around the world.

Hello Daniel,
although I visited this place few years ago,I didn´t noticed the uniqueness of its facade.
Great capture of it.I enjoy the view and the way you composed the picture.A little bit tilted perspective to create eye-catching visual effect.The facade looks like it would be made of fish scales.I´m sure many people will enjoy this picture here on TE.Well done!

Bonjour Daniel,

J'aime beaucoup cette composition. La contre plongée est vertigineuse et on sent bien la texture du mur. Le ciel bleu est un arričre plan parfait.

I first didn't see the fish scale, but this being a Aquarium it makes quite sense.
Great and unusual POV and angle. The eye follows the diminishing scales beautifully up to infinity. Great work,

The amount of scales arranged together in a similar form and patterns have transformed this to something artistic and pleasing to eye particularly seen from this viewpoint. Wonderful detail and sharp focus, it is a precious look indeed but the strong lighting outlining the profile is most attractive element. Fabulous contrast, Great shot.
