Place : Seixal,near Lisbon

Theme: lighting columns/iron lamp

To see: map view and WS

This kind of green iron street lamp is very typical in Seixal streets.

This lamp has a very important topic for the Portuguese, the sea and boats, in this case a sail boat to navigate the River Tagus. The wrought iron lamps were opened in July 1848. In the city of Lisbon.

Seixal - so nice memories. it was wonderful meeting there. I am sure that the one with Josep marin will be also great. Beautiful ironwork, rthe boat sailing in blue, but sky and not sea. Beautiful composition.

Hi a simple composition with a great punch and artistic presentaion due to the slightly angular POV. The lamp contrasts well with the blue sky BG.
Portugese architectures are evident in our country too at GOA.Have a good day.

Very nice detail capture of this iron lantern.
Deep blue sky builds a nice background, the warm yellow color of the wall creates a perfect contrast.

like the framing by the street lamp with nice blue sky in BG...also like the textures & color tones of the decayed wall in FG which cary the lamp...

Olá, amigo Filipe,
me fijé que las farolas en Lisboa eran muy bonitas, con su carabela en la parte de arriba, y gracias a esta foto veo que también en Seixal son muy artísticas.
Excelente composición, sencilla y potente gráficamente, con el cielo azul como un eficaz fondo para los dos elementos, la farola y la pared de piedra.
Un bello trabajo.

Hello Filipe,

I like how you saw the lamp. For me the small boat in silhouette in your photo somehow represents the real boat in the middle of the wide-open ocean. The blue background is the oceanic body. And the lamp is a symbolic guide to navigate through open water. In this small detail I see a greater image as you might have seen it also. I like the photo very much.

A nice street lamp and decoration. I've seen similar ones in Porto. The composition is simple but quite artistic with the black lamp standing out well against the blue sky. The inclusion of the wall creates a strong contrast of colour and textures.
A small particular which gives the taste of a city.

Great ideas and vision. I like the simplicity of the composition, the light quality and superb closeup. Excellent shooting angle to fully focus on the subject, the antique street lamp looks unique and is just at the right spot as strong focal and the textured wall is attractive element worth mentioning and these adds the charm and character to shot
Marvelous contrasting colors and all these are absolutely wonderful addition that combine to transform this into a charming image with the feel of oldie atmosphere. Great shot, Congrats

linda luminária. gosto da pequena caravela navegando para a lâmpada. lindo detalhe. foto de boa qualidade.
PS: tirei mais de 1700 fotos no marrocos e algo semelhante na colômbia, gostaria de mostrar todas no TE, mas tenho que me contentar com o fato disto ser impossível.

I find the composition extremely clever and well done. The street lamp is very ornate and elegant, with the sailing ship as an eye-catcher.
The black silhouette stands out very well against the pure blue sky, with the golden wall making a nice break in the picture.
