I like your idea of shooting the water's edge on a diagonal to split the image in two. It works well from the high vantage point and with the contrasting colours of sand and sea. I don't know how it would have worked out to take the idea a stage further and run the water's edge from bottom right corner to top left corner effectively creating two equal sized triangles? Perhaps it would have been too much?

This is a lovely design picture with the diaganol lines and the sunshades. The simplicity of this picture gives it beauty. Very well done.
