Signs of the romans, a photo from Santarem, South

Photographer's Note

Near Torres Vedras we visit this roman ruins from Vila Cardilio. A roman agricultural villa with thermes, gardens and covered by mosaics that you can admire there. On this image you can see the detail of the sewerage.
This ruins were escavated is 1962 and they found honderds of coins from the century II, III e IV A.C., also there was found ceramics, egiptions glass, jewelery and a statue of Eros.

l'immagine č molto bella e ben composta, oltre ad essere ovviamente molto interessante per l'importanza dei reperti archeologici romani.

I also like to visit the archaeological traces left by the Romans. with the sight of these stone walls, I imagine the prosperity last of this villa. Framing is excellent. I appreciate the colors and the depth of the photograph.

I visited portugal many times. I never visited this place. nice view of these ruins. good pov and framing, the light let us to see all thise details. nice image

Greetings Kiks,

I confess to being a ruin freak, so this shot really appeals to me. I can sometimes annoy my wife with my desire to stop at even the smallest piece of ancient foundations. I like what you have done with this photograph, taking advantage of the harsh lighting conditions to produce a wonderfull framed shot. I rather lie the three trees acting as sentinals in the background.
