A street paved with gold, a photo from Lisboa, South

Photographer's Note

Rua Augusta, one of the pedestrian promenades in Lisbon is not really made of gold but it certainly appears so in this photo. I checked some other photos taken there by night and the warm light often results in this effect. At the end of the street you see Arco da Rua Augusta, and behind it you can even spot a monument on the fabulous Praça do Comércio. It is the statue of Dom José I. My goal here was to photograph the arch, but there was no chance on such a busy street to avoid people/ghosts in the scene.

I had the impression the street was wet ...
But indeed everything here has a golden shine.
I don't think I took photos in Rua Augusta but I have some of the arch taken from the Praça do Comércio.
The successive street lamps provide a nice depth.
Beautiful blue-gold contrast.

a superb visual effect in the pavement. I can see a brazilian flag here too. the place is fantastic and you got the best of it in such conditions with pedestrians in movement. I crossed this place many times and I have a photo with my sister-in-law here, some day I will post if on FB.

Another iconic place in Lisbon, always had croweds walk there.
I ahve a very similar picture, taken daytime.
Excellent sight of the gate and statue further beyond.

The perspective of this beautiful street is wonderful, which with the night lighting, certainly acquires a beautiful golden color, the arch at the end of it is impressive and the equestrian statue further on in the background.
Indeed, the photo you were telling me of the Llanos de Aridane, is one of the towns that has suffered damage in some of its neighborhoods by the volcano.
An image to enjoy, with its beautiful color, great luminosity and perfect sharpness.

This is an older post of yours that I'd missed somehow, strange because I really like it. The gold effect is excellent, the movement blur magical, especially combined with the spot on sharpness on the monumental gate centrally at the back of the scene. Also the statue there is top! This is a superb picture, Mariusz, both in style and in the technicalities involved. Congratulations!!

Beautiful view of this promenade and architecture in the background. You use the low speed of the camera to move people well in the margin of the contract so that we can look at the architecture more closely. Well done. Thanks for sharing
