Ericeira's quiet beach, a photo from Lisboa, South

Photographer's Note

Dear TE friends,

The tourist may choose among sheltered and sometimes crowded beaches like the Praia do Sul, in the village itself, or the quieter and less public ones, like Săo Sebastiăo at the north end of the village, on the way to the camping site.

Further still, near the ruins of the old palace Paço de Ilhas and the traditional settlement of Santo Isidoro, lies the beach of Ribeira de Ilhas. Facing the open sea, it is internationally renowned as one of the best surfing spots in Europe. After Ribamar comes Săo Lourenço beach, the favourite for those who like plenty of space and beautiful sea views.
On the opposite side of the village the river running alongside the chapel of Nossa Senhora do Ó and across the sandy beach of Lizandro offers pleasant opportunities for boat trips.

Very good choice for this low POV. It gives a nice view over the beach and water with the little bridge well placed on the right hand side. The light conditions are interesting too and I like the inclusion of the two persons. Well done!

You dark picture gives it real weather together with the dramatic atmosphere and the clouds at the sky care for a hope on better weather, also the handrail care for depth and nice compostion.
One small detail Aires, your horizont tilt a little bit to the right.

Aires, essa praia parece ser bonita. A meia liz năo temos uma clareza quando a cor da água. Gosto da inclussăo da "ponte", porém ela compete em atençăo com o casal e as nuvens (lados opostos). Tentaria uma foto pegando mais a ponte, como se nosso olhar fosse caminhado por ela até o mar e quem sabe algumas nuvens do outro lado.

Beautiful scene! The fence in the foreground really makes this work, because it gives this a nice sense of depth and also leads our eyes into the scene. I like how you got very low so you could show it against the sky - great job!

Aires the cool colours of the image contrast very nice with the evening mood. However the path to the right is what seem to catch my attention the most. The rope take my eyes away from the beautiful sky. Good compo Aires.

Duas pessoas na praia porque certamente o tempo já estava frio para banhos de mar. Além disso, as nuvens no ceu também năo deixavam antever melhoria alguma na meteorologia. Tudo isto deu-te uma boa oportunidade para nos mostrar o que é a praia a partir do meio do Outono.
Gosto também da informaçăo detalhada que dás do local. E já agora, quanto é que custa o café?!!!!

Hi Aires, this is a great atmospheric composition. A good idea to include the two small figures, it emphasizes the loneliness of the beach somehow. Also an interesting low POV to make the most of the wooden bridge. BTW, when is your next visit to Izmir?

Gosto da passarela para a praia, que me parece bonita. A perspectiva é boa e original, com uma diagonal fechada da passagem partindo do meio para a lateral. O céu destaca-se por sua luz e ótimas cores.

Uma composiçăo diferente, feita ao entardecer. Ficou lindo esta "abertura" de céu azul claro entre as nuvens escuras. Gosto das silhuetas das pessoas conversando e da passarela em diagonal que cria uma boa perspectiva. A luz e as cores estăo bem naturais.

Gosto do contraste que aqui se mostra entra o que é uma praia no pico do verăo e uma praia em Outubro no final de tarde. Estas duas pessoas dăo-lhe alguma vida mas o que transparece é uma snesaçăo de solidăo mas tambem de liberdade para fazer mais ou menos o que nos apatecer sem ter algumas centenas de olhos virados para nós. Gosto desta atmosfera mais fria e deste céu nublado que o torna bastante interessante. O facto de incluires o passadiço dá profundidade ŕ fot mas se tivesses dado um passo mais talvez ainda conseguisses maid pois năo terias este pilar a cortar ŕ visăo (digo eu se calhar até năo...)

It's an excellent composition with that bridge of weathered wood, the two people walking, the enormous sky, soft but also dramatic, the gorgeous light, the mood you gave it by keeping on a lower key in light. Great job, I like it very very much!
