Photographer's Note

Seen here are the Transylvanian Alps, taken this morning from my hotel window. It's strange to see old red telephone boxes around town, when no one uses them anymore. The alps end in Sinaia, which is 880 metres above sea level. The summit of Caraiman Peak is about 2,384 metres. This section of the alps is also known as the Bucegi Mountains. Just east of town, the Carpathian mountains begin.
