Photographer's Note
Imobilul Cantacuzino, buit in 1934 by Marcel Locar.
This building faced a typical problem that many architects have to cope with: how to design a corner building with one side facing a crowded avenue and the other a side street. Here Marcel Locar solved the problem by varying heights of the building, connected by a quarter cylinder covered with glass and housing the five story staircase. Everything is still original here, including the Art Déco entrance door. Sorry for the cables and the billboard, but they are impossible to avoid.

Salut Johannes !
Interesanta fotografi, bine realizata.
La fel si comentariu. Exact la cabluri ma uitam si eu. Specific Bucurestiului.
Eventual ma gindeam, acum, daca nu poti sa inlaturi cablurile cu WIRELITE, un program gratis care l-am luat gratis de pe natura.ro.
O saltamina frumoasa si usoara,
Adrian

I'm not sure what's not to like about this shot - it's some interesting architecture, for sure. I have a soft spot for that, myself. The b&w conversion really brings out the contrast and the distortion of the Sigma was really well controlled. I may just have to put Bucarest on my list of places I need to go before I die...

hello Johannes
I like the faded and the graphic aspects of this composition : its patterns, its connection to the past (architecturally speaking), the timeless option of bw.
