Photographer's Note

'Algida' is an Italian ice cream manufacturer owned by Anglo Dutch firm 'Unilever'. I had a refreshing cold drink here after walking around the hilltop fortress in full sun for an hour. Prizren is in the far south of Kosovo and easily accessible from Albania. But if you want to see Serbia, you should enter Serbia first, as they do not recognise Kosovo's entry and exit stamps in your passport. Divisions still run deep after the long and bloody 1990's / early 2000's civil war and disintegration of the former Republic of Yugoslavia. I had already seen Serbia though and headed south to Macedonia FYR instead.

Hello Chris,
A great view of the city and its many orange roofs and some church domes as well. The bright red parasol is well included too, it is quite a location for a drink! The colours are very well-saturated.

ovviamente conosco molto bene questa marca di gelati (algida, nell'antico italiano, significa fredda).
Bella terrazza, č quello che ci vuole per riposarsi un po' e gustarsi il panorama seduti al tavolino.

A good view over the town to the hazy hills. I'm a little surprised that Kosovo is still listed under Serbia on TE.

A marvelous spot above the city roof-tops, Chris.

The ice cream parasol makes a good focal point and nicely frames the town laid out down below. Good management of the backlight with fine colours and sharpness.

You have convinced me!
This table and parasol are perfectly placed, bright yet shaded from the sunshine, and with THE most appealing view across the city to the distant mountain top!
I'm ready for a cool ice-cream and a glass of something afterwards!
Excellent balance between the parasol and the mountain top, at opposing corners!

Hello Chris,
Although this multinational company gets a free ad, I must admit that the red parasol and the neutral yellow table, seen against the green background, brighten the photo tremendously. Actually, the view of the city with its red roofs glowing in the sunshine is already bright enough. But lacking people you did well with was was available for the foreground.

Wonderful view of the city with the red umbrella in the foreground creating a very nice contrast and also giving very good depth to the image! This brand of ice cream can also be found here in Brazil, with the name Kibon (and many different names throughout Latin America). Light and colors are very pleasant! Excellent job!

Hi Chris,
lovely composition with the present day restaurant table and nice panoramic view of the city.
We can spot there both mosque minarets and the characteristic Orthodox architecture. People from Serbia mentioned that the Orthodox churches are being destroyed in this area but I see at least one here still present :)
Yes the border problems are often affecting also tourists, I remember problems on the Chile-Argentina border in Patagonia, the region which both countries claim for themselves or I heard about same problem between Egypt and Israel or in Cyprus etc
