After the Rain, a photo from Serbia, North

Photographer's Note

Taken the same day as my previous post, but a few streets further. This puddle was really huge, so I waited patiently to 'catch' a cyclist.
The post processing was done in RAW editor - I raised 'temperature' just a bit as the original seemed too 'cold' in the tones, and applied lens vignetting.

I like the detail you captured in this pond. The wave on the cyclist's reflection is a killer and light created with your pp is perfect. Good idea to rotate the photo. I like it.

Hi Marija! Excellent composition of a street reflection. The wires in the back of the cyclist seems to trace its trajectory. I like also the color tonality.

Superb photo, Marija. The subtle 'colour' is marvellous, and vignetting works well. The composition is superb, and the overhead wires reflected in the water seem to be connected to this cyclist. An amazing shot, and certainly one of my favourites in recent days. Well done.

This is one of the best decisive moment photos I've ever seen on Trekearth. I love the way the ripples are distorting the bikers reflection, but not his head. I like the warmers tones as well, and the crop is perfect. Nice one.

Fantastic capture, Maya, out of this world.
It really seems that the biker is either surfacing from a knee deep pool or apparently "tearing" a liquid veil, a bit like that famous special effect of the water alien in Cameron's Abyss movie.

And that vignetting isn't that a super feature with Lightroom ... almost my favorite trick too ;D.

Killer sho, Maya. I dont think there is another lke it on TE. Surreal, ethereal, poetic and extremely beautiful in a monochromaic way. Thee is something strangely moving about color photographs that are so restricted in tone that they're almost B/W. This is top notch work, talented work, no doubt about it.

Hello Marija,
Numerous reflection in the puddle photos on this site. They are indeed a very interesting subject. But, one can becomes a bit bored by seeing so many. But there is a few elements here that made me stopped. First, the quite smooth surface on the "sky". To have his head placed in that part is perfect. I also like how the wires seems to be attached to the guy. Like some marionettes. The vignetting is good too, closing the photo towards where the action lays.
A good one, no doubt!

You have some strong images in your gallery (some of which Ive commented on prior), but this one sticks out for me. Puddles always do a good job of painting a scene, mimicking the appearance with imperfections, and thats what your shot does well here. Some great colour to go with it as well.

I just commented on this photo by Marie about puddles becoming art, and I can only repeat it here - for those who know where to look and HOW to look, art is everywhere. excellent photo, I like a lot the surreal feeling the distorted reflection creates, it makes me think about Lewis Carroll's "Through the Looking-Glass, and What Alice Found There" :) creative approach with a great result, my compliments.
