Photographer's Note
View from the entrance of the Bratislava medieval fortress towards the communist quarter (north side of the Danube). It stroke me at the time that there are two layers of Slovak history in this picture: one the grandour of the medieval past, and the other of the darkness of the communism age which produced the bee-hive like blocks of flats in the background. Coming from Romania, I can understand both.
