Bled lake, a photo from Gorenjska, West

Photographer's Note

Once, there was a tectonic basin located at the place of the present lake, which was later on carved by the Bohinj glacier. The glacier found itself in front of an obstacle a giant rock which it carved and chafed against for so long that only the island we know today remained. The ice melted and the basin was filled with water, thus creating a 2.12 km long and up to 1.30 km wide Lake Bled. Its maximum depth reaches up to 30.6 m, making it ideal for diving exploration.

The high POV gives a superb panorana of the famous lake . I like a lot the palet of green tonalities and the game of lights and shades on the hills and mountains .

You've recently shown us a shot of the lake from the water's edge; here we have the panoramic view from a mountain-top. It's a stunning place all right, and your photographs convince me that Bled will have to be added to my long list of places to visit.

This is a well known and beautiful view, this time from a slightly unusual angle. From this point we get a better impression of the mountains and forests surrounding the lake. The colours are beautiful and the clouds are very nicely shaped.

Great view from a wonderful vantage point of this very blue lake. The tree covered mountain slopes are a beautiful background too and the small island and its white church tower is a lovely detail.

amazing how mother nature carves her way through the landscape like that isn't it.

excellent pov, lovely colors in the water, and the greens are a sweet complimentary color aswell.
