Photographer's Note

A nocturnal shot of one of the dragon sculptures perched atop the bridge (the aptly named Dragon Bridge
/ Zmajski Most), which spans the Ljubljanica River. Handheld at 1/30th second.

Here's a wider angled shot I found showing a daytime view of the bridge.

The bridge links the northern part of the city to the large island in the river formed by the bifurcation of the river on the southern side of town, where the hilltop castle is also located.

Hi Chris
A good night time photo of the dragon. When I took its photo someone had placed a can of beer in its mouth in case it got thirsty (its just a few photos back in the Ljubljana folder).

Hello Chris,
The WS hinted at somewhere in China, but seeing the photo now I remember this view from Ljubljana. The green light in the surrounding darkness makes it very eye-catching and quite impressive. It's a well composed and perfectly exposed photo.

Hi Chris,
A beautiful detail and you have well selected the angle to enhance the effect. Night time also adds to it. The dragon feels almost real. Far in the distance we also see the silhoutte of the church.

PS. Here we also use brook and creek for variations on a stream. However, there are differences of nuance. A brook is a fast moving stream. A creek is wider than a stream but smaller than a river.

Hello Chris,

Wow! This is an amazing sculpture!
And, wow! This is very well photographed!
I like your positioning, so that we follow the sinuous curves of the tail and the body to the gaping mouth!
The dragon is illuminated nicely, to show its colours and textural details, which show up dramatically against the night sky!
