Photographer's Note
This is another 35mm conversion from my Spinish trip in '82. This fisherman was sitting quietly mending his net but as the tourists approached he would stop and pose for the picture. This was therefore taken with a 70-210 zoom and 2x converter at maximum zoom in which the fisherman did not know it was being taken.
The picture I feel gives a very natural pose of a fisherman going about his daily business with his fellow fisherman in the background slightly out of focus so as not to take away from the main character. These I feel add to the composition and add a little more action to the picture.
The picture itself has only been cropped slightly.

Lovely picture and IMHO a very
good compo. The highlight are the hands
of the fisherman. The blurred background helps.

It's great to still some film on TE. You can't replace the, perhaps off, casts of argentic medium. The shot has warmth. very nice.

Excellent DOF and color in this shot. Exposure and composition is also good. Remind me of my fishing days :) Good Catch!

A very good use of DOF for this nice atmosphere that shows a part of the daily life in a fine way, nicely captured,Malcolm,I like it,also like your POV,and real colors which well contrasted, full of life, lively shot, and very well composed.

Glad to see it and you, too:)

I love the scene and the composition, the use of DOF to separate main subject from background but still leaving the background to work an important role on the composition. Jesus

A nice pose and a fine candid shot you done of that old fisherman - thanks Malcomn - The man perhaps a little bit to centret - but the net acts as "weight" against him in the shot.

A man concentrated on his work, nothing exists form him except doing the job. Good work and carefully taken Malcolm!

Hi Malcolm! A very beautiful capture of a daily life activity! Local fishermen meet tourists - an unusual sighting. I love how the fisherman goes with his activity, unmindful of the activities around him. Great sharpness here! I'm also amazed at the fisherman's age - he's already old but still not retired. Great composition! rgds.
