Photographer's Note

Locally, beaches on Majorca are called in Catalan Platja rather than in Spanish Playa.

Platja de Formentor is a wonderful Blue Flag beach on the way to the Cap de Formentor in the north of the island. It is certainly one of the best beaches on the island for children. I suppose there are no more places on Majorca which would be desolated. We visited the island at the beginning of the September, which one can consider to be a shoulder season and yet there were many people everywhere. It didn’t stop us from having fun. In the end, the fact that the island attracts so many visitors means that it has a lot to offer. In fact, after having spent there a week I feel I could easily visit again two or three times and have a lot of interesting places to see.
