Photographer's Note

ALBARRACIN is a pretty remote town set at an altitude of 1180 meters in the mountains of beautiful southern Aragaon. It is surrounded by stony hills and has some 1000 inhabitants.

With its pink-red houses and impressive city wall, Albarracin is considered to be one of Spain's most beautiful villages, and rightly so. It lies on a superb driving route roughly halfway between Teruel and Cuenca.

There are some classy places to stay and several fine restaurants that mainly seem to cater for Spanish tourists. We spent a couple of days there this summer, exploring both the countryside and the local cuisine.

THIS PICTURE was shot on a late afternoon, with threatening clouds above. The location is just a short climb up hill out of town. A fine spot to sit, wonder and admire.
