Capriole - The stallion leaps into the air, drawing his forelegs under his chest at the height of elevation, and kicks out violently with his hind legs. The capriole can take many years of training. Preserved as classical equestrian art, these awe-inspiring movements were originally intended to be used in warfare. Only stallions with the greatest strength, talent and athletic ability are chosen for training in these ancient maneuvers.

I apologize for the poor quality. This is an old photo, but I wanted to post it because the horse’s performance was so spectacular. The performance was part of a show presented at an international meeting of allergists.
