Photographer's Note

In the last photos of this serie you could see people in the BBB.
But Barcelona is much more that fashion, I mean that the people who live there is much more than this.

This one was done in “el Raval”, exactly in a street called “la Rambla del Raval”.
What once time was the old city was plenty of dark streets, all of them very narrow.
Who lived there? Lived and still live the poorest people of the town.
There are thounsands of immigrants living there. From Pakistan, Morocco, Peru, Philippines,... in some way this is the real Barcelona. Real people with real problems.
Of course, also live people who was born in Barcelona.
But this city has left this place only for who cannot pay another house.

And our “dearest” major once time had an idea.
Why not destroy part of these old streets?
This street only 10 years ago didn’t exist. Before there was people living. Their houses were expropiated and this neighborhood began to be a place for people who doesn’t live there. As the city.

Once time they destroyed part of the neighborhood, they make this big street wich crosses the “Raval”.

This is the story.

I hope that you like it.

People in Barcelona. People in “el Raval”
