Photographer's Note

Here's a view of (almost) the whole Ría de Vigo. From the tip of the first island on the left to the deepest point there are 35km; I think this panoramic photo covers nearly 30km or so of water and land. It ranges from 7km in the widest side to 700m in the narrowest part (Rande).
The city in the foreground is Vigo; opposite are the towns of Cangas and Moańa; and even further, in the background, you can see some lights in the Ría de Pontevedra. I've already presented through my posts the large Cíes Islands, which protect the entrance to the estuary, and the smal and inhabitated Toralla Island with that tall building. On the extreme right, the mist and the lights let us guess the bridge which crosses the ría at the Strait of Rande. Vigo has "oficially" about 300.000 inhabitants, though the real population is closer to 500.000. You can't see all of it, however, as several parishes are still out of sight even from here.
This photo is a stitch of 7 shots taken from the Monte dos Pozos, an incredible viewpoint. I'm afraid the stitching isn't perfect, as this was rather "a test". If I don't give up, I might prepare a 22 photos stitch :-)
All the work was done in Photoshop, and it included curves and brightness trying to compensate the difference in light between the two extreme shots.

Hi Ines,

The view is incredible .. great glowing city .. beautiful exposure on the water .. lots of stitch marks in the sky .. I find they are more bothersome once you downsize the image. Great test stitch ... good luck with more.

Hola Inés,
La panorámica es buenísima con todos los ingredientes, un bonito lugar, la puesta de sol por un lado y la casi noche por otro y por supuesto muy buena resolución. Una cosińa...żpor qué escribes todo el texto en inglés?. No me parece mal que lo hagas, pero estaría bien que también lo hicieras en nuestra lengua, yo así lo hago.

Hola Inés,
la versión grande tiene una calidad de imagen increíble, y eso es difícil teniendo en cuenta la compresión y el tamańo requerido para su publicación.
El stitch está perfectamente realizado, los cambios de luz están bien controlados en la exposición, y la vista de toda la ría de Vigo es absolutamente impresionante.
Magnífico trabajo.

I see some different exposure in the sky; please tell me what kind of stitch software you used.
I wish you good luck for the next one with 22 pictures.
I have tried with 60 but it was not so simple.

Hola Inés,
Ni idea de como se hace un "stitch", pero por lo que creo entender has tenido que componer un puzzle con siete piezas. Pues vaya, vaya, bonito resultado. Que lástima que no lo podamos ver mas grande (o a tamańo natural, je je). Vamos que creo que lo has hecho muy bien, controlando bien la luz y creando una buena panorámica.
Por cierto que al ver el "sireno" recordé que ya lo conocía de una breve visita a Vigo hace unos ańos. También la otra que tiene en el puerto cuando llegas en barco desde Moańa. Hasta tengo alguna foto de las dos, tendría que recuperarlas para hacerte la competencia (o mejor no...).

Ya´sé que con este comentario no aporto nada, pero.... ĄQué bonita foto! Muy buena panorámica. Qué buena definición de las luces nocturnas, pero con el cielo aún bien definido. Quizás, el marco es un pelín grande para mi gusto, pero entiendo y aprecio tu intención. Igual, si la veo 5 minutos más, me acaba convenciendo la forma en que la has enmarcado;-)
