Photographer's Note
A night-time visit with two coach-loads of other visitors to the (partially) frozen waterfall at Tannforsen presented some very tricky photographic challenges - attempting to take long exposure, wide aperture shots without a tripod, whilst hoping all the other tourists would suppress their camera flashes... not to mention the trecherously icy conditions underfoot! Predictably, most of my shots were blurred, but this one, taken just above the crest of the falls, ended up as something quite abstract.

This is a really amazing shot! For the most part, I can't tell what it is that I'm seeing -- in a very good way.

wow, excellent shot. it's amazing you took this as a long exposure shot without a tripod. you really sacrificed yourself for this photo and it shows. just wondering - how big is this waterfall? it's so surrealistic looking it's hard to tell.
