Photographer's Note
The Life of Gargantua and of Pantagruel is a connected series of five novels written in the 16th century by François Rabelais. It is the story of two giants, a father (Gargantua) and his son (Pantagruel) and their adventures, written in an amusing, extravagant, satirical vein. There is much crudity and scatological humor as well as a large amount of violence. Long lists of vulgar insults fill several chapters.
This ginormous head reminded me of Gargantua and his son. I read the simplified (and probably cencored) version of their adventures when I was a little girl and I still remember the illustrations in the book by Gustave Doré, whose b/w drawings and engravings I admire.

Lol! An amusing snow sculpture, with excellent shadow detail & sharpness. The red parasail adds a nice colour contrast. Good contrast, & tfs!

Fusun merhaba,
İsviçre'den çok güzel kareler sunuyorsun bizlere.
Buda onlardan birisi. Derya:)

Excellent point of view. It was a great idea to include the paraglider at that place in the frame. Funny image and instructive note. I like that one.
Bonne journée,
Pascal.

Hi Fusun,
Real fun in the snow...
Giant faces, with a touch of humour, and a well described note adds smiles.
Good composition with the flying RED .
All the best.

Selamlar

Merhaba Füsun,
LOL funny creation, looks a bit like our TE smileys don't you think ? Pity it's in the winter shade already, especially as this day looks wonderful, I like the flyer in the distance that provides good balance and a touch of color.
Have a nice day JY

Ah, that book! One of the most important in the course of literature history. And quite fun, too ;)
I agree it was a subject worth capturing. I like the angle, also. I think it would be appropriate to be converted to a B&W, and give a complete relevance to the subject and your wonderful title, but that is just my opinion.

This time I have to start with a word in your note, which surprised me and made me laugh: “scatological”. I had no idea that such a word exists in English. In Greek it could have only a vulgar, humorous meaning as the exact meaning of “scatology” is “shit science” (scato / skato = piece of shit). So, I guess that “scatological humour” means humour referring to excrements.
Now to your photo: This snow face is really funny and I like the way you placed it into your frame. The red parachute in the blue fits in your compo perfectly of course. The timing was just perfect in this respect.
I think though that you probably missed the opportunity here to carry on your Mr. Right-series. With a tripod and a remote you could have done some interesting experiments like capturing yourself kissing the smiling snow mouth or something like that (eventual title: “Finding Mr. Ritht”).
Cheers
Andreas
