Basler Münster

My previous photo showed Münsterplatz in Basel, which got its name from the Basler Münster (Basel Minster), which is also located here. The Basel Minster is a church in the heart of the city and one of the icons of Basel. It was built between 1019 and 1500 in Romanesque and Gothic styles. Originally it was a Catholic church, but it has been a Reformed Protestant church since the Reformation. The two towers are called Georgsturm (Saint George’s Tower, 64.2m) and Martinsturm (Saint Martin’s Tower, 62.7m).
