Hi Ishai, I do not know if what it's written in the note is true, but is lifelike.
I believe that there is no "intrinsic" reality in a shot, but only its interpretation exists (at least in photojournalism and reportage).
Nietzsche said "there is no reality, only its interpretation". I believe it is true, mainly in photography.
Thank you for sharing,
Stefano

NON !
NO! NOT at all!
He has just found a job very interesting and he is awaiting impatiently his 21 years old promised in marriage young person who awaits a baby of him.
He wants to announce to her that they will be able to buy the house of their dreams and to marry!
It is that the true history.
And why not! The photo is made to dream!!!
It is superb in any case.
Bravo

Hi Ishai,
Nice shot. You captured the essence of the oldness and solitude. It is not easy.
Well done.

Hello Ishai, strong note, the B&W works well here. The man is centered but it also seems to work fine. Well done.

How sad- I hope thats not the case. The Tango theory is a bit more up beat. The man could be the pigeons only friend though- maybe giving him tango advice.
The cane adds a perfect touch. It wouldn't be the same with out it. The lighting is nice on the hat. Good work!

Beautiful minimalist image, Ishai, full of feeling and barely expressed emotion. the bird on the left is very important somehow, against all that stasis, he represents movement...and hope.
Lovely work!

From ultra abstract to humanistic. Nice transition, its a more touching photo. The b/w really conveys this mood and I like the composition, ven if the man is centrally placed in the photo.

Hi Ishai,
is that your assosiation or is it true? Sad!
Before reading your note I thought of Thomas Mann in his late time in Switzerland.
Good capture.

He, he, he the pigeon is back !
Very funny how pigeon are associated to elder people ;o).
We should not be biased by what we are seeing.
This man is fully concentrated before his performance on the dance stage: he's competiting at the World Tango Contest. He's scary because all his female fans are becoming crazy of him.
Kidding aside, i love this b/w composition, we fell the sadness.
Thanks, Al (back tomorrow)

Hi Ishai, A very evocative picture. There's heavyness and sollitude here.....but the hat gives it a jaunty even hopeful aspect. The exposure is spot on. Very good.

What a sad story.............well I hope that you are very wrong with your idea.
The pigeon seems to be important element here and the DOF works well. Good contrast with good conversion to B&W

Your story sounds like a real one and matches well the picture. The bird is an extra bonus: Also the BW gives an additional atmosphere of sadness.. Keep well - Izzet

Hi Ishai,
I really like your "old days" series! I've been around old people sometimes and I know how lonely they can get. You captured that feeling very well in this BW series. I think to be a great people photographer is to understand and feel your subject and you've definitely achieved that.
Cheers,
Skye
