Stairway to Heaven, a photo from Valais, West

Photographer's Note

Like a stairway to heaven, two climbers were in the aręte of the East Liskamm (4.527m). I took the pic from the Lisjoch (around 4.000m). Switzerland. I wait for 5 min to have both sides illuminated. The climbers are so little compared with the big mountain.

Damn...I would "shit a brick" if I had to climb on a mountain like that....crazy! Did you climb up there as well after you took the picture?

Wow, what a height! I like the framing and composition of this image. You have shown the contrast between the two "face" of this mountain. Excellent! I dont mind the overexposed part on the right. Good catch!

Hello Joaquim,

When I saw the miniature in the gallery I thought it was some sculpture, I mean human sculpture. It may have, but with these two tiny spots, it is not, and gives me the feeling that I am so little I should go to bed ;-)
The colour of the left side is like the moon. It really seems to be not taken on our old earth.

Caramba. Me ha costado un rato encontrar a los alpinistas. żSon eso que va por una especie de camino entre las dos caras, hacia mitad de foto? Parecen dos pulgas.
La foto ya sería buena por el contraste entre la cara oscura y la clara pero, con las dos personas subiendo, es realmente impresionante.

nice shot! i've been on that place many years ago and I have to say that what i like more in your image is that it really gives you the feeling of being so small compared to the Lyskamm.

yeah this is what i call home. I think its a true picture of a true mountain. you are so small there and the feeling of beeing the only person on the planet is fantastic. In mu view you get this feeling in this shot. Very wel done.
