Photographer's Note
I have shared here previously a photo from the interior of the Boim Chapel in Lviv:
https://www.trekearth.com/gallery/Europe/Ukraine/West/Lvivska//photo1543073.htm
I didn't show the exterior so far because I was not happy with the photos I took. First of all, this little square between the chapel and the Latin Cathedral of Lviv (left wall in this picture) is always very busy and filled with tourists. The façade is extremely rich, however when captured from an angle, it feels a bit strange as if it was horizontally too long. Maybe because the rest of the architecture is relatively modest, it feels as if a slice of rich decorations was artificially glued into a townhouse. Nevertheless it is a beautiful structure to see, I just think I didn't find a way to capture it well.
Info from the wikipedia:
Boim Chapel (Ukrainian: Капли́ця Боїмів, Polish: Kaplica Boimów) was built from 1609 to 1615 and is part of Lviv's Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The chapel was built on the territory of a contemporary urban cemetery near the Latin Cathedral. Lviv merchant Georgy Boim (born György Boym in Hungary) ordered and began the construction as a burial place for his family. His son, Pawel Boim, finished it. 14 members of the Boim family are buried in the chapel.
The chapel combines a variety of stylistic trends. The ornamental decorations are of Dutch origin, while the narrative reliefs resemble, to some degree, those found in central and southern Poland, but seem to be based on German or Dutch graphic models. The sculptor Jan (or Hanusz) Scholtz, who likely was responsible for the second stage of the work, originated from Königsberg. The appearance of the facade and the altar recalls the iconostasis form. The quality of the design and the lack of moderation persists in Kraków active works of Italian masters, but acting example of bourgeois art. The chapel was built on a square plan and is covered by a paneled dome based on an octagonal tambour. On the chapel lantern rises on eight fluted pilasters with Corinthian capitals, covered again with a small dome, having a statue of Christ on top.

A well preserved ancient facade with beautiful carvings, mariusz, taken well from a fair distant POV, enable to include the dome on top.
Hope this particular art-element uponthe entrance would survive this war.
Good afternoon,

Hello Mariusz,
When I look at such beautiful buildings, part of the history of the country and a UNESCO site, it makes my heart ache to think that they could all be in ruins!
I suspect that this building may have been extended, perhaps for a sense of grandeur and, as such, has encroached over the nearby buildings but, it is still splendid.
The cobbled area makes a good introduction to the site, with the lamppost a special feature.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

mariusz
amazing the façade with these rich artworks. the contrast with the simple and humble architecture around is big. looks like there is a Jesus seated in the top of the dome. TFS this building.

Hello Mariusz.
This city never ceases to amaze me with the splendid monuments that it treasures and there are many, thanks to your photos and others from "Fish", I am discovering it, being a World Heritage Site by Unesco, I hope these vandals respect it, this facade so worked reminds me a bit of baroque.
Sharpness, lighting, color, and magnificent composition; They are managed perfectly, in this beautiful image.
Nice job. I like it a lot.
You have a good day. Very best regards.
Luis.

Hello Mariusz,
I agree with your assessment that it looks like the decorations were glued on. But it is interesting, nevertheless. Prayers for the Ukraine!

Hello Mariusz,
I also remember this Boim Chapel and the interior is absolutely amazing.
The exterior facade is also richly decorated.
I thought it was a great gem and was pleasantly surprised when I arrived because I had not expected to find something so beautiful.
Electricity cables were everywhere in Lviv :)
The pedestrianized square in front of the chapel looks charming with its cobblestones.
A nice quiet square near the city centre.
Best regards, Paul
