Bakewell Cottages, a photo from Derbyshire, England

Photographer's Note

After my recent 'Coronation Street' style photograph, here is another photo in keeping with the theme of British soaps. This time it's 'Emmerdale'!

I took this in Bakewell, Derbyshire, home of the Bakewell Tart, a traditional English baked dessert tart or cake consisting of a shortcrust pastry shell, spread with jam and covered with a sponge-like filling enriched with ground almonds.

The image that you see here is actually composed of 3 photographs stitched together to give a slightly wider view, looking down North Church Street, towards the centre of town.

It's ave ry nice angle from street life in Enlgand, I like the composition, the dof and the colors which are very typical from England.

Hi Jamie,
A well composed shot of this quaint little town. I like the DOF here and the misty hill seen in the distance. Good lines and graphics and all is seen with good clarity. The green swathes of grass balance and also contrast nicely with the dominant brown hues of the cottages. Very well done.

Hi Jamie,

What a very nice composed image. I really like the view of those traditional english houses. The weather is (of course) not very good but the green grass adds a good contrast to the image.
