Photographer's Note

Following on from the view of the cliffs, this is Berry Head lighthouse.
It is an active lighthouse, located at the end of Berry Head.
Originally built in 1906, then automated and converted to run on acetylene in 1921; further modernised in 1994, and then in 2019 it was converted to LED operation.

It was built as part of a chain of south coast beacons.
Now monitored and controlled from Trinity House's Planning Centre in Harwich, Essex.

The tower is 5m (16ft) tall, the focal height 58m (190 ft)

The yellow warning sign on the wall says:-
"WARNING Do not look directly at the light source, which may dazzle."

This is the shortest lighthouse that I have ever seen!

One more view in the w/s.
Thanks for looking.
