Headon Warren, a photo from Isle of Wight, England

Photographer's Note

In September last year (2007) I went for a walk above alum bay pleasure park which is on the far western tip of the Isle of Wight.
This place is well known for its heather and for the beautiful pink and purple flowers that it produces in late summer and autumn.
Last year was no exception although the flowers did come out about a month earlier than previous years and because of that i arrived at this spot a few weeks too late, although i managed to get a few shots of the beautiful sunset.
The cliff you can see in the distance leads out to the very famous Needles Lighthouse which you can just about make out.

The two people you can see is fellow Isle of Wight photographer Steve Gascoigne and his heavily pregnant wife (but now have a beautiful baby boy!)

I used an ND8 Graduated filter

Please note that i have lost a LOT of quality due to compression!

Beautiful colors indeed in a marvelous place. I don't really know if it's good or bad that the sun shines in between the two persons.

Very intense colors, but also good to look at.
Its a harmonic wide angle shot, with the people as an important point of interest. I like the composition very much.

Great shot Jamie, your POV is well chosen. The foreground competes with the sky for colour but the two are beautifully balance for composition. This is such a beautiful scene. Regards Steve.
